We are all social beings. So why then when it comes to our work do we often forget this? The posts we create on our social media sites, like Instagram, should reflect who we are, they should be personal and really make our audience want to engage with them.
Tip #1: Keep it real
Be yourself! People follow you because they can relate to you, you have a shared set of values and they want to feel connected to you. Make sure your content is real, conversational in style and connects with your audience.
Tip#2: Be consistent
Consistency is key! Like the good old Scouts motto "Be Prepared"! Thinking about what you want to say means that your content is aligned to your marketing objectives. It will have real meaning and value and ultimately will get you better results.
Tip #3: Get creative!
Social media is supposed to be fun! Show your personality and really engage with your audience. There are lots of tools and features with Instagram that give you space to do this - try Boomerang, adding filters and stickers and using the drawing tool will make your content stand out.
Tip #4: Exclusivity
Use Instagram as a place to share exclusive offers, to launch a new product or service. We all love to feel we are the first to know; reward your fans and attract new followers with the offer of something new.
Tip #5: Stories
Instagram Stories is where it is at! They only last 24 hours (unless you save them) and they are a great way to share exciting news, behind the scenes info, and to be a little more creative!
Tip #6: Go Live!
With advances notice to your followers you can really get a good audience when you "go live". Use this as an opportunity to launch a product, explain a service, invite fans to an upcoming event. You can get involved by answering their questions and it really connects you to your audience (and your customer!).
